Groundbreaking on Sept. 20, 2014 the long-awaited $40 million, high-tech, regional magnet high school in East Hartford,  was built under the auspices of Goodwin College.  The 84,000-square-foot, four-story building is the new home of the Pathways to Technology High School previously operating out of temporary spaces in Windsor for seven years. The school has been renamed the Academy for Advanced Design and Technology, to reflect its expanded mission and the new building’s multitude of state-of-the-art technical facilities.  The building site neighbors Pratt & Whitney properties in East Hartford, at Pent Road and High Street. The school is part of the Hartford school system, but students benefit from a partnership with Goodwin College, as well as an environmental-studies magnet school run by the college.
